SCHOOLZ OUT! Time for FUN (POKER)...here some from my trip

So after getting off exams recently a bunch of my buddies planned a trip to play some poker. NL, instead of the usual limit that Casinos offer.

I ended up +100 (after hotel, food, and gas expenses). But it could have been higher. One buddy ended up +1900, and the other two were down.

Details of the game, its 1/2 NL Min 40, Max100 $5/half hour session fee
I buy in for max, and always keep it at max (ie pay $5 session, I reaload so I have $100 on the table for maximum value). I work it up to $120. MP Pumps it up to $15 (one other callers), I call it out of BB with AK (OOP, so I dont like to reraise OOP, and stacks are deep to make a difference yet). Flop is KTx looking good. I bet out 40. He thinks and calls, turn is J, I have $60 behind and just stick it in. He has AQ, gg $120 ($260 ish pot).

I rebuy, build it up from $100 to $300 picking up pots etc (playing hands like 68o in multi way pots in position, and picking off a couple weak players). They collapse two tables so its just 1 table going on @ 4am in the morning Haha -->> So I am UTG+1 and pump it to 17 with KK. I get 3 callers (wow loose game) and the LP pushes all in for $100. I thought, I could either smooth call, or just push and isolate for a pretty big pot. So I pushed and what do you know, a cold caller (2nd cold caller) had AA. A frd who called my original raise folded AK. so KK vs AA ($185 all in) vs TT ($100 all in). AA holds, GG $185 ($500 pot).

We hit up some breakfast. I go to the sports bar and put a hat over my head and try to get some zzz away from the security camera. I get about 2 hours hit the game refreshed and walk away with a slight profit before hitting the hotel for out 2pm checkin.

Get some more zzz and hit back the 1-2 NL.
Day 1b.
I again build up my stack from 100 to 300 ish. MP raises to 15 with 2 callers, I see 88 out of BB and call. Flop comes A83. I check call his 20 bet (both folded). Turn is a 3 (sorta ok card, but I dont like it because it gives AK AQ some outs to beat my house). I check he bets 25, I raise it up to 65 and he pushes all in for 50 more. I instacall. What do you know, he led the flop with the nuts (AA, gg $150, $350 pot).

so I ended up a bit from the session and back to sleep @ 4am tuesday for 11 am checkout (just so you know, we used a 1 day hotel twice to maximize the cost potential lol, since Casino Hotel is pretty costly).

Get back into the game. I build up to 140 and I get AA WHOOPIE, first AA all trip. I am UTG and I try to pull the limp reraise move on them. I limp, UTG+1 raises it to 5. 3 callers, so I pump it up to 25. What do you know I get the 5 raiser, a lady and a frd. My frd leads out 15 into 100 pot on J96, so I pump it up to 65. Both fold and he pushes all in for 100. I call, he has JT, turn T, gg $125 ($300 pot).

I rebuy rebuild as always. Then another hand comes up. I get QQ on BB, and have a pf better of 20 (1 caller). I pump it up to 55. Both call. Flop is J high, I am First to Act and bet 80. Original 20 raiser thinks and fold (A7 he says after, yeah game is weak) and the othe rguy calls his last 45 with 66. Turn is 6, gg $100 ($250 pot).

It seemed that I lost a lot of big pots over the course of the trip. I figured my frd would kinda notice I am LIMP RERAISING, but he thought I was pulling a move on him like I did in 1st night with AK where he was acting so weak with middle pair I took him and overcards outta the hand.

And another hand that I am kinda happy with was KK. I raised it pf 15 and got a caller with a Full Contact Poker hat. Flop is QT7, which is pretty disguting. But I lead out 20. He calls. Turn is rag. I bet out 35 he calls. River is a dreaded ace. I was shuffling chips and about to check, when I noticed he was grabbing chips. The WEAK SIGN that some players tend to thing he is going to bet out but he is actually trying to get a check. So I make a value bet of $40 and he calls and KK hold. I guess he possibly had QJ. Maybe KQ. Im amazed I was able to profit overall from the trip, but those hands were very key in me having a very successful road trip. I wanted to buy a flat screen TV for my room Haha -->> Back to the grinding I guess.

I'll have some details about my poker goals for 2006. And will hopefully have it all detailed as a progression.
